On Wednesday February 29, 2024 I traveled to Chattanooga, Tennessee to Compete at DECA State representing Gallatin High School, Sumner County Schools, and Cut-N-Clean Lawn Care.
DECA is an international business and marketing club in almost every high school in the world. DECA is a very pristine, and respected club, as it guides and teaches high school student how to think on their feet, problem solve, and react in real world problems. I competed in the category: Business Growth Plan, a less common category, because of the large amount of requirements they have. I competed against 10 other elite business owner from Tn, and placed 2nd in the state.
Since receiving 2nd place, I have the opportunity to compete at the International level in Anaheim, California, In late April. the International level also known as ICDC (International Career Development Conference) is a well respected competition, where I will compete against the most elite business owners in the world. I am beyond honored and blessed to have this opportunity.
This year Gallatin High is taking 24 students to ICDC which is the most we have ever taken, one of the contestants being Maddox Mooney.
Maddox is the owner of Mooney’s Home Services. Mr. Mooney is a great friend of mine, and a well respected young Entrepreneur as well. He placed 2nd in his category, and I am not shocked. I look forward to competing at ICDC, and I’m extremely honored to represent Cut-N-Clean Lawn Care in California!
